South County residents have said that they need safer and more efficient ways to connect to transit stops and public areas. One way we’re helping with this is through Transit-Oriented Development (TOD): a way of planning neighborhoods where common destinations—like housing, shops, and public spaces—are built near public transportation.

The Palomar Street Transit Center and San Ysidro Transit Center are two of the most popular stations on the Blue Line Trolley line, so TOD will help the areas around them work better for their communities. We’re gathering ideas from the public so we can recommend opportunities to make these areas more walkable, bikeable, and useful. This could include apartments, parks, shops, or other helpful community spaces around these trolley stations.

If you frequently pass through these areas, we want to hear from you!
